The Slacker’s Guide To A Gluten Free Thanksgiving: 7 Days Before Thanksgiving

There’s one week left until Thanksgiving, and it’s time to do the last bit of planning. You’ll be cooking a lot of different recipes for Thanksgiving and they all need to be done at the same time. Even experienced cooks know that these is sometimes hard to manage, especially when you’re rather sit around and drink coffee with your house-guests on Thanksgiving morning. A cooking schedule will let you know when it’s time to put the coffee mug into the dishwasher and preheat the oven.

Today’s Assignments: Gather together all of the recipes that you’ll be using for Thanksgiving. Note the temperature that foods need to be baked at and how long they need to bake. Then based on what time you’re planning to eat, back into the time that each dish needs to go into the oven.

Your turkey will take the longest, but it also needs to sit and rest before being carved. So start by figuring out when the turkey needs to go in the oven, and allow time for prepping the turkey for the oven. The last bit of prep for the other recipes can generally be done once the turkey is roasting.
