My grocery budget is also $600- no eating out and all toiletries, 2 kids diapers etc. It used to be $400 last summer but my toddler is getting older and my second child was born (more diapers). I am so glad your budget is $600 because it makes me feel like I am not spending too much lol. When you first posted I groaned because I thought you were going to say some unreasonably low amount. You have great ideas here too! I overspent this paycheck too, so my menu this week costs $80. Doh! Luckily, I had plenty of pantry items and flour leftover from the overspending week.

I make my falafels from an 'mix' but I rarely like them and then I go and buy Trader Joes instead because they're yummy, then I realize how much they cost and it would be far cheaper to do it myself, so I make some from scratch and everyone hates them [except me] so I go back to the packets again for a quick fix. How to break the endless cycle?
Cheers

I really need to try your falafel recipe Mary Frances! I've been meaning to make that since you posted it the first time! I'm COMPLETELY with you on the grocery shopping! I always think it's a true feat if I get out of the grocery store spending less than $50 (and that's just for Michael and me!! Oh yeah... and 4 cats and a hamster) You are really on a roll! You go girl!
