22 Days to Go: Gluten Free Flour Tortillas

These were so yummy and so easy to make. We used them in Last of the Sweet Potatoes soft tacos, which I’ll get around to posting some day.

Gluten Free Flour Tortillas

  1. Did you make these from a standard GF flour mix, or were particular flours needed? Was there xanthan gum? What’s the recipe! :)

  2. Hi. Loved the picture of the tortillas, but have not been able to find the actual recipe. Where is it?

  3. Karen & Harlan:
I used the GF Flour Tortilla recipe from “The Gluten-Free Gourmet Cooks Fast and Healthy:” I did use my own flour mix, because I’m stubborn that way, and I left out the powdered milk substitute because I didn’t have any. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly =)

  4. Do you think these would freeze pre or post cooking? Debating on cutting the recipe or freezing some if they would hold up….hubby is out of town but now dying to try these and no way I will finish a batch :). Thanks!

  5. Erin, I would try freezing them after cooking them. However given how quick they are to make (compared to a loaf of bread) I would probably just half the recipe and make more later.

i made these for work as i manage a mexican restaurant and i have been coeliac for 13yrs. i have tried many times to make tortillas and have to say i am amazed. These tortillas fold, taste like bread and are easy to make. Am going to search your page for more recipes!
    thanks again.
